SIGNVIDEO
Arsenal FC are the first Premier League club to launch a new service for deaf or hard of hearing supporters that use British Sign Language (BSL). BSL supporters will now be able to liaise directly with the club from the Arsenal website via a video link to a fully qualified SignVideo BSL Interpreter who will relay the conversation in real time to the club’s fan services team.
Fans can use this service to make enquiries, purchase tickets for both home and away games, to contact the Arsenal shop, Disability Liaison Team, Customer Service helpline and to book stadium tours. To access the service click on the SignVideo logo on the Disabled Supporters page, where you can also find more information and advice on using SignVideo.
LIFTS
There are nine lifts inside the stadium which disabled supporters can use to go from the car park level to the Lower Tier, Club Level, Box Level and the Upper Tier. The lifts are located at the following cores; A/B, C/D, E/F (which has two lifts available), G/H, J/K, L/M, N/P and R/S. All lifts are stewarded on match days and disabled supporters and people with mobility problems have priority at all the lifts and, from half an hour before kick -off E/F and N/P lifts are designated for disabled supporters only. The lifts have visual floor indicators an audible announcer, hearing loops and tactile markings on the control buttons.
THE MATCH DAY BOX OFFICE
The Match Day Box Office is located on Hornsey Road (at the southern end of the stadium) next to The Armoury Store. There is level access to the Match Day Box Office. The box office is fitted with a hearing loop system for deaf and hard of hearing supporters. There are 10 windows and there is a queuing system which is managed by stewards during busy times. However, disabled supporters who are unable to stand can avoid the queue by asking to use the window on the far left of the Box Office (just inside the door to the Media Entrance).
STADIUM TOURS
Arsenal Football Club are the first London football club to offer British Sign Language on the tour route and means that BSL visitors can walk up and take a self-guided tour like everyone else rather than having to book ahead and arrange for a BSL interpreter to be available. BSL users can find out more by contacting the Disability Liaison Team between 9.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays.
