Tactile Guidance Pathways around the Emirates Stadium

The podium area which surrounds the stadium has tactile guidance pathways that enable blind and partially sighted supporters to navigate their way around.   There are two pathways beginning on the Ken Friar and Danny Fiszmann bridges and these assist blind and partially sighted supporters around podium level.

Seating Areas

Seating for blind and partially sighted supporters is generally located in the rows immediately in front of the Lower and Upper Tier wheelchair platforms.  This means that supporters have level access from the concourse and then only one or two steps down to their seats.  Also, on request, and subject to availability, blind or partially sighted supporters can sometimes be allocated adjacent PA seats on the Lower Tier wheelchair platforms.

Lifts

Lifts are operated by stewards on match days and are located at the following cores: A/B, C/D, E/F (two lifts ), G/H, J/K, L/M, N/P and R/S.  Disabled supporters and those with mobility problems have priority and half hour before kick-off E/F and N/P lifts are designated for disabled supporters only.  All lifts have an audible announcer and tactile markings on the control buttons.  Lift Passes can be applied for if you are a season ticket holder.  We recommend that all supporters arrive at the stadium in good time.

Audio Description Commentary Service

The club provides a complementary Audio Description Commentary Service at every home game at the Emirates Stadium including away supporters.

Receivers and headsets are issued to all season ticket holders on a permanent basis.

If you are not a season ticket holder, once you have received your matchday ticket confirmation email or when booking tickets over the phone, notify the Disability Liaison Team (0207 619 5050) that you would like to have the Audio Description Commentary Service. Just before kick-off, your commentary equipment will be handed to you in your seat by a member of the Commentary Team   It will be collected from you after the final whistle or alternatively you can hand it to a steward as you leave.   Should you arrive after the start of the game, ask a steward if the Commentary Team has left the equipment with them.  If not, then ask the steward to call the Disability Match Day Team and they will arrange for the commentary equipment to be delivered to you as quickly as possible.

If the equipment fails at any point during the match, for example the batteries need replacing, then ask a steward to call the Disability Match Day Team and the batteries or equipment will be replaced.  However, it is advisable that you bring with you spare batteries just in case the batteries run out.

Away Supporters

If you would like the Audio Description Commentary Service, when booking your match tickets,  ask your club’s Box Office or Disability Access Officer to advise the Arsenal Disability Liaison Team (disability@arsenal.co.uk).  Provided that the Arsenal Disability Liaison Team receives your name and seat details before the match, they will be able to arrange this service.  The equipment will be delivered to you in your seat before kick-off.  If you arrive after the start of the game, ask a steward if the Commentary Team has left the equipment with them. The equipment will be collected from you after the final whistle or alternatively you can hand it to a steward as you leave.

Assistance Dog Facility

The Emirates Stadium was the first Premier League ground to install an Assistance Dog Toilet facility which is located outside the stadium on podium level opposite turnstile Block F.  This facility can be used by all types of assistance dogs.  It is accessed via a gate which is fitted with a RADAR lock but if you do not have a key with you, contact a steward.
